REGINA -- Saskatchewan Roughriders running back Kory Sheets says hes embarrassed by the domestic violence charges that were filed against him earlier this year, but maintains hes ready to move on. Sheets talked to reporters Tuesday for the first time since news of his off-season legal troubles came to light. The charges were first reported by Saskatoon radio station CKOM. "Its something Im not proud of and Im really embarrassed that it happened," Sheets said. "I allowed myself to get put in a situation that wasnt beneficial to the team or myself, and really I just want to get past the situation. "Ive done all my obligations that the team wanted me to do and that the courts had me do and everybodys happy with the outcome." The charges were laid in January stemming from an incident near Tampa, Fla., but the state didnt prosecute the case after Sheets successfully completed a domestic violence program. Sheets didnt inform the team right away because he wanted to do so in person. Saskatchewan GM Brendan Taman said Sheets will be disciplined but didnt elaborate further. "Kory knows hes on his last strike with us," Taman said. "Regarding the (teams) code of conduct, every situations different and everything is handled on an individual basis, and Korys got on the wrong side of it right now. "Well see where it goes in the future but I think he knows where he stands." Taman said the team learned of the charges in March. He did not seem upset that Sheets took several weeks to inform the team of his situation. "Im not going to condone what he did in any way, shape or form but I think theres angst on his part to try and figure out what to do before he told us," he said. Sheets ran for 1,277 yards and 11 touchdowns as a rookie last season. He added 49 catches for 517 yards and two TDs. Authentic Custom Coyotes Jersey . Its sharpness matched my mind. Russell Westbrook might be the most dominant offensive force the NBA has ever seen -- or at least since the 1977-78 season. For the third season in a row, and the fourth time in nine seasons, Westbrook is on track to do something only four other players have done since calculations for how many possessions a player uses began -- become a member of the 30-40 club. The 30-40 club is for players who manage to use at least 30 percent of their teams possessions and assist on at least 40 percent of their teammates shots while playing at least 1500 minutes during the season. Members of the 30-40 club are such commanding presences on their offenses that it is hard to imagine how the team scores at all without them on the floor.Westbrook is the only active player to go 30-40 in consecutive seasons. Dwyane Wade has reached the club twice, joining Westbrook as the only two active players to do in multiple seasons. LeBron James has only managed it once, as have active players Tony Parker and Deron Williams.Three players are on track to reach 30-40 his season: Westbrook (41 percent usage, 59 percent assists), James Harden (34 percent usage, 58 percent assists) and John Wall (34 percent usage, 48 percent assists). Clearly this is a point guards club because it is hard (though nothing is impossible for LeBron) for a non-PG to dominate the offense in both shot-taking and assists.Westbrook is in a different category, however. If he completes another 30-40 season, it will be his third straight and fourth overall, but if he sustains his current level of play, hell become the first player ever in the 40-40 club.Consider that in only his ninth season in the league, he will have accomplished four times what LeBron James has only done once and something Michael Jordan and Magicc Johnson never did.dddddddddddd Remember that this is not a club about selfish play -- it requires the player to share the ball at season-leading levels, and Westbrooks assist rates the past two seasons are the highest ever recorded in the 30-40 club.It is also not a club about scoring efficiency, so while Westbrook might be the most dominant offensive force we have ever seen, he is not necessarily the best offensive player. Westbrook has a true shooting percentage (a measure of scoring efficiency that adjusts for free throws and three point shots) of 55 percent. That does not register in the top 20 of most efficient scorers this season and does not compare to former teammate Kevin Durant, who leads the league at 68 percent. While Westbrook will never be the most efficient of scorers, his positive impact on the team is clear. While Westbrook has dominated the ball since he arrived in the NBA, his offenses have not been outside the top 10 at the end of the season since his second season in the league. The Thunder are performing above average offensively this season despite losing three of last seasons top five scorers and replacing them with fairly pedestrian offensive talents. Without Westbrooks offensive dominance, this is a team that very well could be challenging the Mavericks for last place in the Western Conference.Westbrook may or may not end up averaging a triple-double this season, but even if he doesnt, he is still very likely to make history by completing his third straight 30-40 season and establishing himself as the most dominant offensive player of this era.For more analytics content, head to ESPN.com/analytics.
