PHILADELPHIA -- Claude Giroux and Jake Voracek scored shootout goals to cap a fantastic Philadelphia Flyers rally in a 4-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night.Trailing 3-1, Brayden Schenn and Mark Streit scored the tying power-play goals with 3:05 left in regulation.Buffalos Dmitry Kulikov was whistled for charging when he wiped out Jake Voracek late in the game to start a scrum between the two teams. Schenn quickly followed with a power-play goal with 3:05 left to make it 3-2. Streit scored with 1:51 left in regulation when he knocked in the puck on the fourth rebound past a stunned Anders Nilsson.Travis Konecny also scored for the Flyers. Matt Moulson scored two goals for the Sabres.Moulson scored both goals in a three-goal second period that chased Flyers goalie Michal Neuvirth. Neuvirth allowed three goals on 17 shots and was pulled from net for his second straight start. The Flyers were listless in their third game in four nights and were soundly booed off the ice at the end of the second. Those jeers turned to cheers by the time Voracek knocked in Phillys second shootout goal.Moulson had his first two-goal game since Dec. 11, 2014 against Calgary and has four goals this season. He had eight in 81 games last season. The Sabres had the last four days off and were clearly sharper early than the Flyers. The Flyers had 10 giveaways through the first two periods and Girouxs boarding penalty early in the second sparked Buffalo to two straight goals.Tyler Ennis opened the scoring 2:06 into the second when the puck appeared to deflect off Streits right leg.Battling for the puck behind the net, Giroux plowed his left shoulder into Zemgus Girgensons and sent the center face-first into the boards. With Giroux in the box, the Sabres capitalized on the man advantage. Moulsons power-play past Neuvirth made it 2-0 and started the boos at the Wells Fargo Center.Moulsons second power-play goal of the game -- and league-high fourth of the season -- sent Neuvirth to the bench. Steve Mason, in a battle for the No. 1 spot, replaced Neuvirth and made a nifty stop later in the period to deny Moulson a hat trick. The Flyers got a needed lift in the third when Konecny scored his first career goal. The 19-year-old forward was Philadelphias first-round pick in the 2015 draft and is one of the hopeful cornerstones for the rebuilding franchise.Nilsson, who stopped 49 of 50 shots in two preseason games, was solid until the late collapse in his first start of the season. Robin Lehner didnt make the trip after coming down with an illness on Sunday night.Game notes Flyers D Radko Gudas returned from a six-game suspension for his head shot in a preseason game. ... Sabres F Evander Kane remained sidelined with cracked ribs. Its more of a pain and discomfort than anything at this point in time. He should be able to start moving here shortly, not crazily, but he should be able to start moving shortly here and kind of go from there, coach Dan Bylsma said. DENVER -- Von Miller tormented the quarterback. Aqib Talib had a pick-six .Just another Sunday for the Broncos, and after two games, the Denver defense is batting away doubts about whether it could lead the way to a Super Bowl repeat. The Broncos stifled another contender: This time, it was Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts taking a 34-20 beating.Im pretty sure we woke (critics) up today, said Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall, alluding to those who didnt think the Broncos would be a repeat threat without Peyton Manning, Malik Jackson and a few others who left after last seasons title. With 1:54 remaining and facing fourth-and-1 at the Indy 17, coach Gary Kubiak elected to kick a field goal to extend the lead to 26-20 rather than try to close out the game with a first down. A risky proposition giving the ball back to Luck, who has picked apart the Broncos (2-0) in recent meetings. Not so risky this time. On Lucks first play, Miller got the sack and strip, and Shane Ray returned the fumble 15 yards for a game-sealing TD as the Colts dropped to 0-2.If the game is on the line on defense, you can almost guarantee were going to finish the game and win it for us, cornerback Chris Harris Jr. said. Weve been in that situation all year last year. Coming into this year, same thing.Something were accustomed to, were used to and we like winning on defense. The Broncos rode that defense all the way to a championship a season ago. They think theyre even better at this point, too, than when they went on to led the league in yards per game (283.1).We didnt shut down Andrew Luck at this time last year, Harris said. They held Luck to 197 yards passing and came up with the game-changer when Talib stepped in front of Lucks pass early in the fourth quarter and returned it 46 yards for a score. It was the ninth pick-six of Talibs career. Then theres Miller, who was constantly in the backfield harassing Luck, much like he did last week with Cam Newton on their way to a 21-20 win over Carolina. How many sacks did Von have? Five? Marshall asked.Only three, actually . But it probably felt like more. After one, Luck said about the only thing he could say to Miller: good sack. This is what I am supposed to ddo.dddddddddddd Thats what I do. Thats why I dance, Miller said. Thats what I live for. What else we learned from the Colts-Broncos game:BUTLER ALMOST DID IT: Cornerback Darius Butler picked off a pass by Trevor Siemian and had a clear path for a TD. All of a sudden, he dropped to the turf with a hamstring injury after a 19-yard return. His afternoon was done. Ive never seen anything like it, Colts coach Chuck Pagano said. I probably (thought) the same thing that was going through everyone elses head: `Its a pick-six. No one is going to catch him.ROCKY START: For a third straight season, the Colts start the year 0-2. They rebounded to make the postseason in 2014.There is only one level of frustration with losing, and that is, wanting to win, Luck said.AILING: Broncos linebacker DeMarcus Ware broke his right forearm early in the third quarter. Kubiak said the team will see Monday morning about the extent of the injury and whether we think its something he can play with or something that has to be fixed.IMPRESSIVE SIEMIAN: Siemian completed 22 of 33 passes for 266 and a pick. He also became the fourth Broncos QBs drafted by the team to win his opening two starts. (The others: Marlin Briscoe, Craig Penrose and Brock Osweiler.) I dont think you are ever going to be perfect, Siemian said. But its encouraging were doing some good things.WRITE THAT CHECK: Safety Darian Stewart was called for a roughing penalty when he hit Luck in the head as the quarterback slid late in the game. Thats just me playing ball, Stewart said. I just hope Im not fined. Stewart was docked $18,231 by the league for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Newton in the opener.TAKING A KNEE: Linebacker Brandon Marshall took a knee again Sunday for the national anthem, but isnt sure if he will do so again next weekend. When the time is to stand, then Ill stand, he said. Marshall has received plenty of support and criticism over his decision to join San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players in a plea for social change.---AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFL ' ' '
